The mayor of the western city occupying said that Thamin Khalil Reda Dawabsheh had killed while Israeli settlers attacked the Palestinians.

A Palestinian in occupied West Bank was shot in an attack by Israeli colonists, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health quoted by the WAFA news agency.

Thamin Khalil Redda Dawabsheh, 35, was shot dead Wednesday morning in the city of Duma, south of Naplus, by an Israeli soldier on leave who accompanied “an Israeli civilian” near Duma “during engineering work,” said the Israeli army.

Previous Palestinian reports on the attack said Dawabsheh had been killed by an Israeli colonist.

According to the mayor of Duma, the Palestinians of the city were “surprised” by an attack by Israeli colonists, said Nida Ibrahim of Tel Aviv Tribune.

“The settlers began to attack a 14 -year -old, leading many Palestinian men to go and try to defend him,” said Ibrahim.

Later, more armed settlers arrived and they started shooting the Palestinians, leading to the death of Dawabsheh, “whose only crime was on her earth,” she added.

Suleiman Dawabsheh, the chief of the Duma village council, said the settlers attacked the Palestinians and opened fire to them in the southern part of the village, in the midst of developing operations that have taken place in the region for days, reported the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

Ibrahim said the murder of Thamin Dawabsheh was part of a model of increasing the violence of Israeli colonists against the Palestinians who is often filmed on the camera.

“Each day, we come across more videos showing how the Israeli colonists attack the Palestinians – intimidate them, shoot them, kill them. And they are not held responsible by the Israeli authorities,” said Ibrahim.

The declaration published by the Israeli army said that dozens of Palestinians launched rocks towards the civilian and the Israeli soldier, and “in response, the soldier fired the threat, and a blow was identified”.

A fatal scheme of Israeli soldiers, settlers’ attacks

Recently, the 31-year-old Palestinian activist and English teacher Awdah Hathaleen was shot dead by an Israeli colonist on July 28 in the village of Umm al-Kheir, south of Hebron.

Hathaleen was well known for his activism, in particular by helping the creators of the Oscar -winning film without other land, which documents the Israeli colonists and the soldiers attack against the Palestinian community of Masafer Yatta.

The Israeli settlers, protected by the Israeli army, are often armed and shoot at will against the Palestinians who try to stop them. They attack residents and burn goods with impunity, rarely, if never, face legal consequences.

The Israeli army has also intensified its mortal raids, home demolitions and travel campaigns in the West Bank.

Violent attacks of Israeli settlers and soldiers from the occupied West Bank have increased since October 2023, in tandem with the genocidal war of Israel in Gaza, with the United Nations, declaring that nearly 650 Palestinians – of which 121 children – were killed in the territory by Israeli forces and forces and colonists between January 1, 2024 and early July 2025.

5,269 other Palestinians were injured during this period, including 1,029 children.
