Palestinian factions called for escalation of resistance in the West Bank, following the attack that killed 3 Israelis and injured 9 others near the Kedumim settlement, east of Qalqilya.

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said – in a statement – that Operation Kedumim is “a heroic response to the ongoing crimes and war of extermination committed by the occupation against our people in the Gaza Strip, the displacement plans in the West Bank, and the aggression of the settlers, especially the Temple groups, against Al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy sites.”

She considered that the operation “represents a message to the extremist occupation government and its ministers, that in the West Bank, Gaza, the occupied interior, and all of the land of Palestine, there are a free, proud, revolutionary people who will not give up their rights, and that resistance will continue until the occupation is removed from our entire land.”

The movement called for “escalating resistance in all areas within our occupied land, depriving the occupier and its settlers of security, and thwarting his malicious plans of annexation and displacement.”

In turn, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine said – in a statement – that this operation sends “a strong message to the occupation that the resistance in the West Bank is present and ready to direct qualitative and surprising strikes against the occupation soldiers and settlers at every moment.”

She stressed that the operation “confirms that every inch of the West Bank is an open field for resistance, and that the attempts of the Zionist occupation and others to uproot the resistance and break the will of the resistors through a war of assassinations, targeting, siege and restrictions will fail.”

The Front called for “field escalation in the West Bank and intensification of operations that will confuse the occupation’s calculations and weaken its security system.”

For its part, the Islamic Jihad movement blessed the “heroic operation” and said it was “a natural response to the occupation’s crimes against our people in Gaza and the West Bank and a slap in the face to war criminals.”

The resistance committees in Palestine considered the shooting operation “a natural response to the war of genocide, ethnic cleansing, and brutal massacres in Gaza, and the malicious plans for Judaization and annexation in the West Bank.”

She said that the operation was “a new blow to the entire Zionist intelligence, security and military system and an expression of the accumulated failure of the Zionist entity and its criminal leaders.”

She called on the Palestinians in the West Bank to “escalate resistance and direct strong and specific strikes against the enemy and its settlers.”

Israeli media reported earlier that those killed in the operation were “two women in their sixties and a man” who were traveling in two private cars, and indicated that the operation also resulted in 7 people being injured, one of them seriously.

Israeli Army Radio quoted a security source as saying that the attack was carried out by three gunmen who opened fire on a bus and cars.

The occupation forces deployed in the area and began a massive search for the perpetrators.
