The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics said that the estimated number of Palestinians at the end of 2023 amounted to about 14 million and 630 thousand, indicating that the year 2023 witnessed the largest number of martyrs since the Nakba of 1948.

According to a statement issued by the agency yesterday, Sunday, regarding the conditions of the Palestinians, 7.55 million Palestinians reside in the State of Palestine, more than a third of whom reside in the Gaza Strip, in addition to 1.75 million Palestinians in the 1948 territories, approximately 6.56 million in the Arab countries, and about 772 thousand in foreign countries. .

He pointed out that the year 2023 recorded the highest death rate among Palestinians since the establishment of Israel in 1948, noting that the number of martyrs in Palestine since the beginning of 2023 reached 22,404 martyrs, including 22,141 martyrs since the seventh of last October, 98%. Some of them are in the Gaza Strip.

Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, which has left, until the last day of this year, 21,822 martyrs, 56,451 wounded, massive infrastructure destruction, and an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, according to the Gaza Strip authorities and the United Nations.
