Pakistan: Imran Khan sentenced to 14 years in prison


Imran Khan sentenced to 14 years in prison for corruption. The former Pakistani Prime Minister was sentenced the day before to 10 years in prison for disclosing classified documents.

New conviction for Imran Khan.

A Pakistani court handed down a 14-year prison sentence to the former prime minister and his wife.

The couple was accused of receiving and underselling gifts while Imran Khan was in power, including jewelry and watches donated by the Saudi government.

The verdict falls a few days before the legislative elections when Imran Khan had just been sentenced to 10 years in prison for disclosing classified documents.

This is the third conviction handed down against Imran Khan since the former cricket star was removed from power in April 2022.
