From the heart of the tragedy of the Gaza Strip, where the war does not leave a place to rest, many stories appear floating on the surface of the pain with heavy silence. Among the rubble of war and the suffering of displacement, the story of the Ghazi, Aisha Al -Arqan, who resists cancer, is not only with her body, but with all the remaining glimmer of hope, in the midst of a tent that does not protect free or cold.

A journey of illness and displacement

Amid the Nusseirat camp, one of the gatherings of the displaced in the Gaza Strip, Aisha is looking for a missing drug, and a bed that relieves the pain of her exhausted body.

In an interview with Al -Jazeera Net, Aisha says: I am a 4 -year -old cancer, and I was being treated in Gaza hospitals, but with the start of the war, everything stopped, no treatment, no medicine, and no doctor who passes on us.

Aisha was displaced from one area to another, until she settled in a tent in which she lives with her cancer -sick husband. She adds: The tent is not suitable for a patient’s life, no water or electricity, we sleep on sand, and the atmosphere is unbearable .. The disease exacerbates, and I am very tired.

The martyrdom of the son increased the pain

What increases the pain of Aisha is not the disease alone, but the loss of her son who was martyred in the war. She tells a faint voice and her tears preceded her breath: I do not want to travel and leave my family. My son was martyred, and after his martyrdom, I have no hope, even if the disease spread in my body, life has ended, I want to die while I am among my family members.

Words overflowing with grief, but they carry the pain of thousands of patients who were cut off. Deady health conditions and the absence of sponsorship since the beginning of the war, with most hospitals and health centers in the Gaza Strip stopping their regular services, due to direct targeting and resource depletion.

Cancer patients, especially from the absence of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, as well as the lack of qualified medical cadres.

The figures indicate that there are more than 9,000 cancer patients in the Strip, and many of them are in a critical condition, as there are no treatment opportunities inside Gaza, in addition to the difficulty of getting out of them to receive care abroad.
