The non-governmental organization Oxfam confirmed – yesterday, Sunday – that only 12 humanitarian aid trucks distributed food and water in the northern Gaza Strip in two and a half months, strongly warning of the deteriorating humanitarian situation there.
The organization stressed – in a statement – that the Israeli army systematically obstructs “the delivery of aid to starving Palestinian civilians.”
She said that until last Saturday, the Israeli army allowed only 12 trucks to distribute aid to the northern Gaza Strip, out of 34 that were allowed to enter the region during the two and a half months, thus preventing the Palestinians from obtaining food, water and medicine.
The organization indicated that in 3 cases the occupation army carried out evacuations and bombings as soon as food and water were distributed to the school in which residents had taken refuge.
Oxfam reported that the Israeli army has continuously prevented it and other international humanitarian organizations from providing vital aid in northern Gaza since October 6, when the occupation began its new operation in the region.
It reported that thousands of people are still isolated in the northern Gaza Strip, noting that humanitarian organizations working in Gaza have been receiving calls since the beginning of this month from people trapped in homes or shelters, who have run out of food and water.
The occupation army is implementing what is known as the generals’ plan, which aims to displace the people of the northern Gaza Strip, besiege them with hunger, and prevent the displaced from returning to their homes.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza that left nearly 153,000 martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and the elderly.
