A ramming operation with a huge cargo truck that took place on Sunday morning in Tel Aviv sparked widespread interaction on social media platforms, with Israeli media describing it as “dangerous and unprecedented.”
The operation, which Palestinian newspapers said was the largest ramming operation inside Israel, took place at the Glilot Crossroads bus station, north of the city of Tel Aviv, which is only about 800 meters away from the Glilot military base, which houses the headquarters of the Israeli Mossad.
There were a number of Israeli soldiers at the station at the time of the accident, which was confirmed by the Israeli occupation army radio, which said that a large number of those injured were soldiers, and that they were on their way to their military bases.
The Israeli Ambulance Authority announced that one person died from his wounds, and 50 other people were injured, 37 of whom were taken to hospitals, including 10 with critical injuries.
The Israeli police announced that the perpetrator of the attack was killed after he got off the truck holding a knife, while Israeli media said that he was a Palestinian with Israeli citizenship, called Rami Natour from the town of Qalanswa, near the city of Netanya, north of Tel Aviv.
Army Radio quoted a police source as saying that the ramming operation was carried out against a national terrorist background, and that the truck collided with a passenger bus that was present at the transport station.
Horror is the strongest result
The Shabakat program (10/27/2024) monitored some of the interaction of tweeters with the incident, including what Zain al-Din wrote: “Ramping and stabbing operations against the Zionists deep within the entity are increasing, and this is a strong indication of the strength and stability of the resistance against this usurping occupier.”
While Tamer believed that the operation was “planned in advance with continuous monitoring of work schedules and changes of language,” Abu Bakr said that “this event became a major threat to the usurping entity because it makes the settler not trust those who protect him from the attacks of the Mujahideen,” according to his tweet.
Muhammad Ibno wrote: “Horror is the strongest and most lethal result. Just as a disabled soldier is more harmful than a dead soldier, the costs of a wounded soldier remain a burden on him, his family, society, and the state.”
Sumaya said: “I am happy when I see the Palestinians of the occupied interior expressing their rejection of the occupation and their stand with Gaza, because this will always make Israel in terror…it will never rest in someone else’s land.”
Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir visited the site of the hit-and-run incident under heavy security guard, and told the media from there, saying: “Weapons have proven once again that they save lives, and my policy in distributing weapons has proven to be correct.”
He added: “This operation is an opportunity to call on Benjamin Netanyahu and all members of the government to support the law to deport families of terrorists,” meaning those who carried out operations against Israelis.
About an hour after the ramming operation north of Tel Aviv, the Israeli occupation army radio said that the forces opened fire on a vehicle driver who attempted to carry out a ramming operation at the Hizma military checkpoint, northeast of the city of Jerusalem, and the forces in the area were on alert.
