On the anniversary of the Nakba… demonstrations in Western and Arab countries in support of Gaza and Palestine | News

Today, Saturday, demonstrations took place in several Western and Arab countries as part of activities commemorating the 76th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba and in support of the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to continuous Israeli aggression for the eighth month in a row.

Britain

A march in solidarity with Palestine was launched from the center of the British capital, London, towards the British government headquarters, to demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, and to pressure the British government to stop licensing arms sales to Israel.

The march came as part of a global movement day for Palestine and to commemorate the Nakba, which the demonstrators confirmed is still ongoing with the continuation of the policies of ethnic cleansing, forced displacement and extermination pursued by Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories.

France

In France, a march took place in the capital, Paris, to denounce the aggression against Gaza and demand an immediate ceasefire.

The demonstrators, who came out at the invitation of various associations, raised slogans denouncing what they described as “international complicity” in what is happening in Gaza, at a time when the residents of the Strip are facing a war of genocide, according to their description.

They also called on French President Emmanuel Macron to take more serious positions for a ceasefire.

In the city of Toulouse in southern France, French activists and politicians went out in a march to commemorate the Nakba and to denounce the continued Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, according to scenes published by pro-Palestine pages and activists on social media.

A large number of the city’s citizens participated in the march in response to the call of the “Palestine Will Victory” movement, raising banners, some of which read: “Solidarity with the Palestinian people” and “76 years of the Nakba.”

Germany

In Germany, a demonstration was launched in the capital, Berlin, called by German organizations and associations, including Jewish organizations, in solidarity with Palestine and to protest what they described as “genocide” committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip.

The demonstrators denounced the Israeli military operation in Rafah, and the occupation army committing massacres against civilians.

They also called for stopping the export of German weapons to Israel, and appealed to the German government to pressure Israel to stop the war on Gaza.

The German police said that they intervened several times due to “violations” being committed during the demonstration, noting that some firecrackers were thrown and fireworks were ignited during the demonstration.

She added that she prevented a vehicle carrying a loudspeaker that was driving the convoy from continuing its movement after chanting slogans prohibited by the German authorities.

Italy

In Italy, the European Palestinian Media Center’s social media account posted scenes showing hundreds of demonstrators walking in the streets of the Italian city of Milan in a march in solidarity with Palestine.

Türkiye

The state of Aksaray in central Türkiye also witnessed a demonstration with a car convoy in support of Palestine and denouncing Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip.

Hundreds of Turks gathered in the city’s old industrial complex, then drove off in their cars decorated with the Palestinian and Turkish flags.

The event included the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an in the July 15 Square in Aksara for the souls of the Palestinians who were killed in Gaza.

Austria

The Austrian capital, Vienna, also witnessed a demonstration demanding an end to the Israeli war on Gaza. During the march, the demonstrators raised Palestinian flags and banners denouncing the crimes committed by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip.

Denmark

In the Danish capital, Copenhagen, a march took place in solidarity with the Palestinians and to denounce the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza.

A video clip published by the European Palestinian Information Center showed scenes showing dozens of citizens and activists gathering in one of the capital’s squares.

Finland

The Finnish capital, Helsinki, also witnessed a demonstration during which participants chanted slogans in support of Palestine and raised banners calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Australia

In Australia, hundreds of activists demonstrated in the Hyde Park area of ​​Sydney to denounce Israel’s continued genocide against the residents of Gaza, and to demand the prevention of the military operation in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, according to scenes published by pro-Palestine pages on social media.

Activists in the city of Perth, Western Australia, also organized a march in the city’s streets to commemorate the 78th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba and to denounce Israeli crimes against Palestinians in Gaza.

The march started from the gardens of the Supreme Court in the city, where the demonstrators roamed the city streets under the protection of police officers, carrying Palestinian flags and banners on which they wrote, “Palestine remains from the sea to the river.”

Activists and supporters of Palestine also demonstrated in front of the office of Australian Member of Parliament for the Labor Party, Daniel Molyneux, in the Brimbank area of ​​Melbourne, to demand a halt to arming Israel and the application of sanctions for committing war crimes against the Palestinians in Gaza.

New Zealand

In New Zealand, scenes published by pages supporting Palestine showed a march taking place in the streets of the city of New Plymouth in protest against Israel’s continued genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza.

The march was topped with a large banner reading, “Stop genocide…Stop shooting now,” and the demonstrators also raised Palestinian flags.

Japan

In Japan, dozens of Japanese demonstrated in Shinmushi Kita Park in Osaka, denouncing the Israeli attack on the city of Rafah, and demanding an end to the war on Gaza.

Scenes on social media showed participants in the demonstration raising Palestinian flags and banners calling for the rescue of Rafah.

Tunisia and Morocco

In the Arab world, Tunisian civil society activities organized a massive march on Saturday towards the Municipal Theater in Tunis on the occasion of commemorating the 76th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba.

The participants raised the Palestinian flag and chanted slogans in support of the Palestinian resistance factions.

As for Morocco, the “Moroccan Authority for Supporting the Nation’s Issues” announced that yesterday, Friday, it organized 106 demonstrations in 46 cities in the Kingdom in solidarity with the Gaza Strip, and in rejection of the starvation and forced displacement practiced by the Israeli occupation in the Strip.

The non-governmental organization said – in a statement – that citizens went out in 106 demonstrations in 46 cities, for the 32nd week in a row, under the slogan “Palestine… 76 years of tragedy and steadfastness,” in reference to the anniversary of the Nakba.
