The world celebrated the New Year 2024, but there were those who decided to celebrate in another way, as several regions around the world witnessed protests and demonstrations in support of the Palestinian cause and denouncing the Israeli aggression on Gaza that has been ongoing for 87 days.
The city of Ramallah witnessed a demonstration in which thousands of Palestinians participated, yesterday evening, Sunday, coinciding with the entry of the New Year 2024. The demonstrators chanted slogans in support of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), saying, “The people want the Qassam Brigades” and “We are the Al-Qassam Brigades.” With you, Gaza.”

The Jordanian capital, Amman, witnessed a protest in front of the American Embassy denouncing the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, and bloggers published video clips and pictures showing dozens of protesters gathering in front of the American Embassy and other pictures showing the solidarity of a Jordanian artist in her own way with the people of Gaza.

On New Year’s Eve, hundreds of protesters took to the streets in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, in solidarity with the people of Gaza, chanting slogans, “No joys, no holidays, the people of Gaza are dying,” and the people want to liberate Palestine, raising Palestinian flags.

As for Tunisia, under slogans demanding the expulsion of US Ambassador Joey Hood because of his government’s support for the war on Gaza, Tunisians participated in demonstrations in front of the US Embassy in Tunis, demanding an end to the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.

Tens of thousands of Turks participated in a march in Istanbul at dawn on Monday, in solidarity with Gaza and denouncing the Israeli war on it, and this coincided with the memory of the martyrs of the Turkish army.

Various regions in America, such as Boston, Providence (Rhode Island), and Brooklyn, witnessed dozens of demonstrators taking part in vigils on New Year’s Eve to demand an end to the genocide against the people of Gaza, expressing their broad solidarity towards civilians in the Gaza Strip, coinciding with bidding farewell to the year 2023, carrying banners and flags of Palestine.

In Canada, specifically in the city of Montreal, dozens of demonstrators supporting the Palestinian cause and denouncing the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip came out carrying Palestinian flags and demanded an immediate ceasefire. These demonstrations coincided with New Year’s celebrations.

Arab peoples around the world have continued to support Gaza since October 7, with continuous protests denouncing the Israeli massacres against the people of Gaza.
Since October 7, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on Gaza, which has led to the death of more than 21,000 Gaza residents.
