Volodymyr Zelensky continues his diplomatic tour. While the Ukrainian president is in Germany, to sign a security agreement with Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the news was brought into this meeting.
The announcement this Friday of the death of Alexei Navalny, in a penal colony in the Arctic, where he was serving a 19-year prison sentence, did not fail to provoke a reaction from the two leaders.
For President Zelensky, the cause of the death of the Russian opponent is beyond doubt.
“It is obvious that he was killed by Putin, like thousands of others, tormented and tortured, because of this one creature. Putin doesn’t care who dies, as long as he can keep his job. That’s why he has to lose everything. Putin must lose everything and be held accountable for his actions“, said the Ukrainian president.
“Now we know exactly what type of diet it is. Anyone who criticizes or defends democracy must fear for their safety and life. This is why we are all very saddened. We are with his family, his wife, his children and all his relatives and friends“, said Olaf Scholz.
After Germany, President Zelensky must go to France to meet Emmanuel Macron. The two men must also sign a security pact. These agreements are crucial for Ukraine, at a time when financial support from the United States is no longer guaranteed.
