The Israeli website “Walla” said today, Wednesday, that Israel decided to extend the military operation in the Jenin camp, and spoke about the possibility of launching another large-scale operation in the southern West Bank, while the occupation forces carried out a new campaign of raids and arrests.
The website added that the military operation that the Israeli army began in the camp a week ago and called “summer camps” was supposed to end yesterday, Tuesday, but it was decided to extend it by order of Defense Minister Yoav Galant.
He added that the decision was taken based on the continued arrival of intelligence information regarding the military infrastructure in the camp, according to the website, which quoted military sources as saying that the army had neutralized highly explosive explosive devices in the Jenin camp, some of which weighed more than 100 kilograms.
The same sources said that the increasing warnings in the southern West Bank may lead to a large-scale operation there if the security situation deteriorates.
For its part, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper said that the army faces a major threat in the camps in the northern West Bank despite the availability of intelligence information, noting that explosive devices are causing losses despite its use of heavy machinery.
The newspaper added that militants in the West Bank camps are booby-trapping buildings with heavy explosive devices that could inflict casualties on the army.
A week ago, the occupation forces began a large-scale operation in the northern West Bank under the pretext of dismantling resistance cells. Since then, resistance fighters have been confronting them with explosive devices and bullets, killing and wounding a number of its soldiers.
The operation has so far resulted in the martyrdom of 33 Palestinians and the injury of 130 others, and has caused great destruction to the infrastructure in the cities and camps of Jenin, Tulkarm, Nablus and Tubas in particular.
Reinforcements in Jenin and Tulkarm
Meanwhile, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that the occupation army sent more reinforcements to Jenin camp this morning, which has been under attack for the eighth consecutive day.
Tel Aviv Tribune correspondent said that the invading forces opened heavy fire inside neighborhoods of the camp, while Palestinian sources reported intensive flights of warplanes in the skies of Jenin city and camp.
In Tulkarm, the Israeli army sent new military reinforcements towards its camp and closed the streets with dirt barriers.
Tulkarm camp witnessed violent clashes between resistance fighters and occupation forces in the past hours.
The Tulkarm Battalion of the Al-Quds Brigades said that it is engaged in fierce clashes at zero distance with the occupation forces in the city of Tulkarm and its camp.
For its part, the Al-Qassam Brigades announced that it had ambushed an Israeli force, and confirmed that it had inflicted casualties on it.
Medical sources reported that a Palestinian was killed and another was injured by the occupation forces’ bullets in Tulkarm camp at dawn yesterday, Tuesday. Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent also reported that two resistance fighters were killed in clashes with the occupation forces.
Also in the northern West Bank, and as part of the ongoing attack for a week, Israeli forces stormed areas in Nablus and Qalqilya this morning.
Israeli media reported that there was a suspected attempt to run over soldiers near the village of Qusra, southeast of Nablus, and that the car had withdrawn from the scene.

Raids and arrests
In other areas of the West Bank, the occupation forces arrested a young man this morning after shooting him in front of the Qalandia checkpoint, north of occupied Jerusalem.
This morning, Israeli forces also stormed the town of Beit Surik, north of occupied Jerusalem, and arrested 22 Palestinians, according to Al-Aqsa TV.
The occupation forces also stormed the Shuafat camp and the Salam neighborhood in the town of Anata, northeast of occupied Jerusalem. Palestinian sources said that Palestinian youths targeted occupation vehicles with Molotov cocktails in the Shuafat camp.
In the central West Bank, Israeli forces stormed the Jalazone camp and the village of Budrus, north of Ramallah, and carried out widespread arrests in the camp, according to Palestinian sources.
In the southern West Bank, the Israeli army stormed the city of Hebron, raided and searched homes, and arrested citizens. Its soldiers also carried out a raid campaign in the areas of Wadi al-Hariyeh, Jabal Abu Rumman, and Harat Abu Sneineh.
A young man and a child were also injured by the occupation forces’ bullets during their raid on the city of Adh Dhahiriya, south of Hebron. Clashes erupted in the city center, during which the invading forces fired live bullets and toxic tear gas.
The raids also included Al-Fawar camp, south of Hebron, and in the town of Idhna, Israeli soldiers raided the homes of relatives of the martyr Muhannad Al-Aswad, the perpetrator of the Tarqumiya operation that resulted in the killing of 3 Israeli policemen.
Also in the southern West Bank, the occupation forces stormed the town of Tuqu’, southeast of Bethlehem, this morning.
The Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Authority said today that the occupation has arrested at least 30 Palestinians since yesterday evening in the West Bank, including children and former prisoners, confirming that 130 have been arrested since the start of the Israeli attack on the northern West Bank last Wednesday.
Since Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa, the Israeli army’s attacks on the cities and camps of the West Bank have escalated, resulting in the martyrdom of 685 Palestinians, the injury of 5,700 others, and the arrest of nearly 11,000.
