The National Arab Baptist Hospital is the only hospital operating in Gaza City with simple capabilities, and it appeals to citizens around the clock to donate blood to save the lives of the wounded and sick.
Pictures and videos circulated by activists and social media platforms showed damage to the upper floor of the hospital and smoke billowing from it.

The targeting of the Baptist Hospital comes a day after the Israeli occupation army stormed Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, burned it, and put it completely out of service. Not only that, but it detained more than 350 people who were inside the hospital, including 180 medical personnel and 75 wounded and sick people, along with their companions, and took them to the hospital. An unknown party, according to a statement by the government media office in Gaza.
Yesterday, Saturday, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced the arrest of the hospital director, Hussam Abu Safiya, the day after the operation that caused the last major hospital in the North Governorate to be completely out of service.
The targeting of hospitals in Gaza sparked widespread condemnation, as the World Health Organization said that the systematic dismantling of the health system in the Gaza Strip is a death sentence for tens of thousands of Palestinians in need of health care.
The organization explained that the Israeli storming of the hospital and burning parts of it led to the last major health facility in the northern Gaza Strip being out of service.
Many Arab countries also condemned the targeting of the hospital, and called on the international community to assume its responsibilities to stop these violations immediately, hold their perpetrators accountable, and ensure the protection of civilian facilities and medical and humanitarian personnel in Gaza.
