Ocampo: The International Justice Decision is extremely important and Israel must abide by it Programs

The former Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Luis Moreno-Ocampo, said that the decision issued by the International Court of Justice is very important and that Israel must abide by it, stressing that the UN Security Council is concerned with issuing a resolution obligating Israel to implement it.

Ocampo added that the next step after the court’s decision is for Israel to stop the military operation in Rafah immediately, stressing that it is very important that Israel respects this decision.

He explained that Israel’s failure to implement the resolution would refer the matter to the United Nations Security Council, in order to decide on the matter.

Ocampo added that Western countries such as France and Britain must put pressure on Israel to adhere to the decision, pointing out the need for there to be outcomes for these decisions, stressing that Israel will not be able to defeat the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in this way.

He pointed out that it is possible for the Security Council to meet to supervise the implementation of this resolution, because member states are entrusted with supervising the implementation of the international group’s decisions.

He explained that there is no solution for the Security Council and the United Nations except to support this resolution, and he did not rule out the possibility of Washington using its veto power against this resolution.

He stressed that Israel must adhere to the resolution because it cannot continue in what it is doing because it is a member of the international community, noting that 90% of the countries of the world support stopping the military operation in Rafah and protecting the people there.
