Demonstrations took place in Palestine and the diaspora camps to express anger over the assassination of Saleh Al-Arouri, deputy head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), who was martyred on Tuesday along with two leaders of the Al-Qassam Brigades in an attack in the southern suburbs of Beirut.

After announcing his martyrdom, people gathered in front of his family’s home in the town of Aroura, Ramallah (central West Bank), and chanted, “Oh Aroura, look and see, your men are out in the open.”

At the same time, a march took place in downtown Ramallah, during which young men chanted: “Oh, revolutionary bank, revolutionary, and Al-Arouri was martyred.”

Mosques in several cities and camps in the West Bank mourned the martyr Saleh Al-Arouri, and called for mourning and a strike.

Marches took place in Al-Faraa camp, the town of Tammoun, and the city of Tubas in the northern West Bank, as well as in the city of Hebron and Al-Aroub camp in the south.

Crowds also demonstrated in Nablus, Tulkarm and others.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian factions issued a joint statement stating that the assassination of Al-Arouri “is an aggression against the Arab and Islamic nation, and not only against Lebanon and Palestine.”

The factions declared general national mourning and a comprehensive strike, calling for a response to Al-Arouri’s assassination “with force from all arenas and fronts.”

At the same time, marches took place in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon to denounce the assassination of Al-Arouri and demand revenge.

Tel Aviv Tribune Net correspondent Najia Dahsha said that Burj al-Shamali camp in the Tire region witnessed a massive popular march that denounced the Israeli aggression on Gaza and the assassination of Al-Arouri, and demanded revenge for his blood and all the martyrs.

Marches also took place in the Beddawi, Rashidiya, and Al-Bass camps, where demonstrators raised Palestinian and Hamas flags.

In Jordan, a march took place near the Israeli embassy in Amman denouncing the assassination of Al-Arouri.

Crowds also demonstrated in the city of Zarqa, northeast of Amman, where the demonstrators chanted, “Oh my shame, oh martyr, Tel Aviv will destroy us.”

The Hamas movement announced that the assassination led to the martyrdom of Al-Arouri, the leaders of the Al-Qassam Brigades, Samir Effendi and Azzam Al-Aqra’, and 4 other cadres and members of the movement.
