Move along, nothing to see ? The LFP ruled on Thursday November 9 concerning the incidents on the sidelines of OM-OL on October 29 which led to its postponement. For the moment, OM is not at fault and will not be sanctioned and the match will be replayed on December 6 at the Vélodrome stadium.

The date of the postponement of the meeting was already known but not the location, which was the subject of tensions between the two clubs. This match on the 10th day of Ligue 1 could not be played after the injury of Lyon coach Fabio Grosso, hit in the head when a projectile broke a window of the bus in which he was on.

OL appeals

The LFP competitions commission made this decision to play the match at the Vélodrome stadium “following the information and guarantees transmitted by the Bouches-du-Rhône prefecture”, it explained in a press release.

On Wednesday evening, the body’s disciplinary committee, referred to by its president Vincent Labrune, announced that it would not take “disciplinary action” for the stone-throwing on October 29 because the incidents had “occurred on public roads.” “.

For its part, OL announced on Thursday that it would appeal this decision, deeming it “inaudible” and considering that it indicated “unequivocally that the LFP is absolving itself of responsibility”.

Olympique Lyonnais motivated this appeal by its desire “not to let these unacceptable events go unanswered”, insisting on their “extreme seriousness”.

The LFP disciplinary committee also opened an investigation after racist chants and gestures observed in the stadium’s visitor parking lot by Lyon fans. The decision is expected on November 22.
