The film is a documentary collaboration oscored by Israeli and Palestinian filmmakers.

Hamdan Ballal, Palestinian co-director of the Oscar-winning documentary without any other land, was arrested by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank after being beaten and injured by Israeli colonists, his colleague Co-Director Yuval Abraham said on X.

“A group of settlers just lynched Hamdan Ballal, co -director of our film, no other land. They beat him and he has injuries in the head and stomach, bleeding,” said Abraham in a post.

“The soldiers have invaded the ambulance he called and took it. No sign of him since,” he added.

A video provided by the Center for Jewish Nonviolence has shown a masked colonum walking and swinging its fists on two group activists in a dusty field at night.

Activists rush to their car. “Enter, enter!” We shout, and they reproduce inside while the boosts of the rocks can be heard hitting the car.

“The car window was broken,” said the driver going down.

A group of 10 to 20 masked settlers also attacked Jewish activists on the scene with stones and sticks, broke their car windows and cut their tires.

“We do not know where Hamdan is because he was taken to a banner,” said Josh Kimelman, one of the activists who was on the scene, to the Associated Press news agency.

The Israeli army said it was examining the episode but did not immediately comment.

No other land, a collaboration between Israeli and Palestinian filmmakers, follows the militant Basel Adra while he risks arrest and violence to document the destruction of his hometown, Masafer Yatta, by the Israeli army.

The film won a series of international prizes, from the Berlin International Film Festival in 2024. He also attracted anger in Israel and abroad, as when Miami Beach briefly proposed to end the lease of a cinema that projected the documentary.
