Niagara Tonolli, director, invites us to delve into the history of the archives of the Stasi, the East German secret police. For 40 years, the Stasi spied on millions of Germans in the GDR (German Democratic Republic). For 30 years, women, nicknamed puzzle women, have been reconstructing by hand part of the archives that the Stasi tried to destroy. Niagara Tonolli met these heroines of collective memory and made a documentary about them for France 24, entitled “Puzzle Women, the confetti of memory”.

The documentary “Puzzle Women, the confetti of memory” by Niagara Tonolli will be broadcast on Saturday 13 January at 9:10 p.m. on France 24 and from Friday January 12 in preview on our site.
