On the other side of the planet, some countries celebrated the New Year well before others, it’s a question of time zone. New Zealand was one of the first countries to welcome 2024. Fireworks lit up the sky as the top of the Sky Tower lit up in different colors as the fireworks exploded in the night sky.

In Australia, the Sydney Harbor Bridge was the focal point of a famous midnight fireworks and light show watched by an estimated 425 million people worldwide each year, according to city authorities .

Beijing welcomed 2024 with a countdown at Capital Steel Park, a tourist site.
