New Ukrainian strikes on the Russian city of Belgorod


A new attack by the Ukrainian army on the Russian town of Belgorod left two people injured.

The Russian city of Belgorod, located 50 km from the border with Ukraine, once again the target of Kyiv. The strikes by the Ukrainian army on Thursday evening left two people injured according to the governor of the region, and caused significant material damage. Nearly 100 houses and apartments and 30 cars were damaged.

On December 30, the city had already been targeted by Ukrainian bombings which left 25 dead and around a hundred injured. Faced with the risk of new attacks, some schools in the region were ordered to extend their closure, and the governor suggested that residents evacuate the city.

On the other side of the border, in Ukraine, Russia is also continuing its bombings.

Several strikes hit towns near Donetsk, killing two people. As Russian attacks intensify, Germany has announced that it has delivered anti-aircraft defense equipment as well as ammunition and combat vehicles to Ukraine.
