Yair, the son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is required to the International Criminal Court, said that his fear of his life opponents his father prompted him to leave Israel in early 2023 and go to the United States.

For more than a year, Yair has sparked controversy of his presence in the US state of Miami, even during the genocide war that Israel has been committed in the Gaza Strip since October 2023.

For the first time, Yair said – in an interview with the local TV channel (TOV) broadcast on Monday evening – that he “left Israel for fear of his life.”

He added: “That night was when Benjamin Netanyahu expelled Defense Secretary Yoav Galant from his post, which sparked angry reactions in Israel.”

“I was alone at home, and at some point I was very afraid that the demonstrators would break into the house. They climbed the fences carrying torches, and it is a tactic that I consider fascist.”

He said he heard threats to kill him, and saw that the police did nothing, and it was clear that there were high orders to allow this to happen.

He continued: “After that incident, I felt the need to move away to preserve my safety.”

Yair claimed that when he moved to America, the Caplan protest (opposing the laws to limit the judiciary) launched a monitoring process against him using private investigators who cost millions of dollars.

He also pointed out that there are militias that operate as military units funded by “mental disordered” individuals – some of them inside and outside mental clinics – who use the protests “as a cover for terrorism that aims to make your life unbearable until it surrender.”

Israel is like Iran

He compared Israel and Iran, saying, “Today, Israel resembles Iran in some aspects … in Iran there are democracy, but everyone knows that it is just an appearance. The authority is in the hands of unleashed clerics who really manage the country, and in Israel the Supreme Court plays a similar role; an unructly body with tremendous authority.”

He continued: “The current situation cannot continue because Israel is not actually democracy at the present time.”

It should be noted that Israel has witnessed from January to October 7, 2023 unprecedented demonstrations against the government for its attempts to limit the judiciary authorities, and later began other demonstrations calling for the release of Israeli prisoners held in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli government, led by Netanyahu, calls for the enactment of laws that limit the authorities of the Supreme Court and prevent them from interfering with the decisions of the government or the Knesset, which is controlled by the Israeli right.
