Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday that Gaza must be administered after the war by a civil administration with the help of Arab countries that teach people that the future does not depend on “destroying Israel and killing all the Jews on the face of the earth,” according to his claim.

This came in statements made by Netanyahu to the American news agency “Punchbull News” and reported by Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, in which he also said that “post-war Gaza must begin a process of combating extremism starting from schools and mosques,” according to his claim.

He added that the Civil Administration will be responsible for distributing aid in the Gaza Strip, while the international community will undertake reconstruction.

Netanyahu claimed that the war that Israel is waging in Gaza and the escalation on the northern front are against what he described as the “Iranian axis,” stressing the need for continued American support for Israel to succeed in “survival.”

The Arab countries refused to participate in the management of the Gaza Strip after the war or to impose Israel’s control over it, and required the existence of a clear path to establishing a Palestinian state for their involvement in supporting the Strip after the war.

The Arab Five-Year Committee, which includes Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, and Egypt, made it clear last May that its financial and political support, which is essential for the future of the devastated Strip, would only come in exchange for ensuring a path to establishing a Palestinian state.

The Palestinian factions also rejected the presence of any international or Arab force in the Gaza Strip, and considered that the entry of any force in the future would be considered an occupation force.

War on schools

In a related development, the Israeli Consul in Dubai, Liron Zaslansky, said at a United Nations session that the attack of last October 7 came from “incitement to terrorism,” in response to the Palestinian UN delegation’s assertion that the attack did not come out of nowhere, indicating that it was the result of to the Israeli occupation.

Zaslansky claimed that schools in the Gaza Strip teach people “terrorism,” claiming that the Palestinian Authority “incites violence and poisons Palestinian society with hatred.”

Since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip about 9 months ago, the occupation forces have been targeting schools and universities in the Strip, even those housing displaced persons, which prompted human rights organizations to confirm that Israel is waging a systematic campaign against education in Gaza.

According to the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, the Israeli targeting affected 90% of government school buildings, which were subjected to direct and indirect damage, while about 130 government schools are used as shelter centers.

The occupation also targeted school teachers, university professors, and distinguished graduates to hinder the advancement of post-war education.
