Netanyahu Trump calls and talks about a “quick operation” in Gaza news

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed with US President Donald Trump’s plan to occupy the entire Gaza Strip, at a time when Netanyahu talked about a quick military operation in Gaza.

In a statement, the Netanyahu office said that the Prime Minister made a phone call on Sunday with Trump, as they discussed “Israeli plans to control the remaining Hamas strongholds in Gaza to end the war, by release the hostages and defeating the movement,” as he put it.

Netanyahu’s office statement added that “the Prime Minister thanked President Trump for his steadfast support for Israel since the beginning of the war.”

The communication is the first between them since the Israeli government passed last Friday a plan that Netanyahu’s offer to occupy the entire Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu said that the military operation in Gaza will be fast, but he did not specify any time for it, claiming that the goal of Israel is not the occupation of Gaza but its “liberation” from Hamas.

The Israeli Prime Minister also said that he ordered the army to reduce the timetable for controlling the city of Gaza, adding that he was determined to end the war as soon as possible.

Netanyahu denied a famine in Gaza, and claimed that the United Nations refuses to distribute aid that entered through the Kerem Abu Salem crossing.

Netanyahu avoids using the term “occupation” in talking about his government’s plan on Gaza and replaces the term “control” to escape legal consequences.

“All his regular forces”

For its part, the Israel Broadcasting Corporation stated on Sunday that the army will push “with all its regular forces to Gaza” as part of the plan to be implemented to occupy the Strip.

The authority said that the army is seeking to build a Gaza City occupation plan, and it needs a week to formulate outstanding lines.

She added that the military plans for the occupation of Gaza City are not yet clear, including the storming paths and whether the occupation will take place once or in stages.

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation added that the army believes that it would push all the regular forces to Gaza, while the task of other fronts will be entrusted to the reserve forces.

Last Friday, the Israeli Ministerial Council approved a plan that begins with the occupation of Gaza City (north), through the displacement of its population of about one million people to the south, then surrounding the city and carrying out incursions into residential gatherings.

This is followed by a second stage that includes the occupation of refugee camps in the central Gaza Strip, which Israel has destroyed large parts of it, as part of a continuous war with American support since October 7, 2023.

The opposition and the families of the Israeli prisoners in Gaza accuse Netanyahu of prolonging the war to ensure his government remains and preserves his political future.

Since the second of last March, the occupation closes all the crossings leading to Gaza, preventing the entry of any humanitarian aid, which has entered the sector in a state of famine despite the accumulation of relief trucks on its borders, and allowing the entry of limited quantities that do not meet the minimum needs of citizens.

With American support, the occupation is committing a genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction and forced displacement, ignoring international calls and orders to the International Court of Justice to stop it.

The Israeli genocide left 61 thousand and 258 martyrs and 152 thousand and 45 injured, and more than 9 thousand missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced people and the famine that have been exhausted by many lives, including dozens of children.

The occupation also assassinated 237 journalists during the genocide, in a systematic attempt to obscure the truth and hide the image of the atrocities it committed.
