The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said that the statements of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the management of the Gaza Strip are a clear confirmation of his rejection of the UN Security Council resolution and the proposals of US President Joe Biden.

The movement added in a statement that Netanyahu’s position is the opposite of what the US administration tried to market regarding the occupation’s alleged approval of the exchange deal.

She pointed out that the movement’s insistence that any agreement include a clear confirmation of a permanent ceasefire and a complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip was to block Netanyahu’s attempts to evade, deceive, and perpetuate the aggression and war of extermination against the Palestinian people.

The movement called on the international community and active countries to work diligently to force the occupation government to stop its war against the Palestinian people, and called on the American administration to take a clear decision to stop its support for the comprehensive genocide that the Gaza Strip is being subjected to.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he is not ready to establish a Palestinian state, and will not allow the Gaza Strip to be handed over to the Palestinian National Authority.

Netanyahu explained, in an interview with Israeli Channel 14, that he wants to “establish a civil administration in cooperation with local Palestinians,” noting that restoring settlement to Gaza is not realistic.

He added that Israel is waging a war on 7 fronts: with the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, and the armed factions in Iraq, in Syria, the West Bank, and Iran.

The Israeli Prime Minister claimed that the period of intense fighting in Gaza was about to end, but he stressed his unwillingness to stop the war before eliminating the Hamas movement.

Exchange deal

Regarding the prisoner exchange deal, he said that he was ready for a partial deal in which he would return some of the prisoners held by the resistance, but he confirmed the resumption of the war after the truce to complete its goals. The Walla website quoted an official related to the negotiations as saying that Netanyahu’s statements cause great harm to the possibility of reaching a deal.

Netanyahu said that he was not ready – either – to keep the situation as it is in the north on the Lebanese border, and that plans were being prepared to make, but he refused to go into details.

Regarding the West Bank, Netanyahu said that Israel does not ignore the possibility of an attack in the West Bank similar to what happened on October 7, and indicated his government’s readiness for that.

Netanyahu stated that the cessation of American weapons was dramatic, indicating the possibility of continuing the war with what Israel has, but he would prefer to obtain more of them, according to his statements.

The United States in May suspended a shipment of 2,000-pound and 500-pound bombs to Israel over concerns about the impact they could have in densely populated areas, but Israel is still scheduled to receive billions of dollars in American weapons.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza with absolute American support, leaving more than 123,000 Palestinians martyred and wounded, in addition to thousands of missing people.
