While the world’s attention focuses on the genocide that the Palestinians are exposed to in the Gaza Strip, the Benjamin Netanyahu government -the international criminal court -is required and the West Bank displacement and seizure of their lands, to establish a microcosm of the Greater Israel that it tries to establish between the sea and the river.

In light of the American and Western support and the Arab silence on what is happening in Gaza, the Israeli government, which is described as the most extreme in the history of the occupation state, has expanded the demolitions, annexation and displacement within the military operation that has been carried out in the West Bank since last January.

During this process, the Netanyahu government uses extremist settlers, the army and the police to demolish the homes of hundreds of Palestinian families and expel them in preparation for the establishment of new settlement foci.

Observers are unanimously agreed that what the West Bank is experiencing today is worse than the 1948 catastrophe, where the Palestinians are ethnically cleared at a pace that are not different from what is happening in Gaza.

Return to 1948 style

To implement its scheme, Israel relying on settler gangs to expel the Palestinians from their land by force of arms, similar to what the Haganah and Ergon gangs did in 1948, according to what the Secretary -General of the Palestinian National Initiative, Dr. Mustafa Al -Barghouthi, said to the “Beyond the News” program.

Besides, the Netanyahu government also relies on the judiciary that stripped the Palestinians of their lands and property, and the Ministry of Finance, which revealed “Haaretz” last June, that it has allocated 5.6 billion shekels (about $ 1.5 billion) to expand settlement infrastructure, including roads, water and electricity networks.

These new projects are part of a strategy to connect settlements together and to cut off the West Bank, which the head of the Knesset and 14 of its members of the Likud Party demanded that they be immediately included.

Although the occupation government justified these operations to seek to prevent an event similar to what happened on October 7, 2023, it is implementing plans it prepared and began implementing them before this date, but it accelerated its work after it, says the expert in the Israeli affairs Ihab Jabareen.

A model for Greater Israel

This government – whose ministers declare the right of Israel in all lands of the West Bank and even in other countries in the region – are trying to establish a microcosm of what Greater Israel should be, which they are trying to establish between the sea and the river, which “will replace the law with religious texts and will not recognize the rights of non -Jews in it.”

This trend is completely consistent with statements by the Minister of Finance in Salawel Smotrich, in which he called on the Palestinians in the West Bank to choose between leaving, killing or submitting to the sovereignty of Israel.

According to the “Financial Times” last May, from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), Israel has killed more than 900 Palestinians since the beginning of the war on Gaza.

Despite the great danger that represents this Israeli behavior on President Donald Trump’s peace plans in the region, the latter appears to be busy with other issues such as Iran, says the former US State Department official, Thomas Warric.

In light of this preoccupation, the United States does not do enough to change Israel’s approach to the West Bank, which makes countries like Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the Arab Emirates, asking – in the opinion of Warric – to point out Trump’s view that this matter may waste all his efforts in the region.

But Trump’s previous statements do not reflect the preoccupation of what Israel is doing in the West Bank as much as it reflects the concern of it, because he said explicitly at the beginning of his second covenant that he is studying the recognition of the West Bank to Israeli sovereignty.

It is unreasonable for the United States to lose sight of the rapid devastation process of the West Bank, as the Netanyahu government approved the construction of more than 17 thousand new settlement units during the first half of this year, most of which focused in the regions of Nablus, Hebron and Bethlehem, according to the “Wall Resistance and Settlement Authority”.

During the iron wall that started in the northern West Bank camps last January, the occupation forces destroyed hundreds of houses and expelled thousands of Palestinians, and recently brought mobile rooms for the Armida Tel near the Ibrahimi Mosque, south of Hebron.

This is the first time that Israel has attended these mobile rooms of the region, as it paves the way for establishing a new settlement in the development of the coordinator of a youth campaign against settlement, Amr Issa, in an interview with Al -Jazeera as “very dangerous.”

Change the shape of the West Bank

After carrying out more than 3,000 demolitions in the northern West Bank camps, the Israeli army announced its intention to change the shape of the area to make it open and keep it under its control, in conjunction with the expansion of the settlers their attacks on the homes of the Palestinians and their lands.

The Israeli human rights organization, “The Delivery of the Human Rights, has documented the displacement of the residents of 20 villages in the West Bank since October 7, 2023, but Al -Jazeera correspondent Montaser Nassar said that what happened during the past two months was the most dangerous.

The data of the “Batemm” organization in its report issued last May indicates that the number of settlers in the West Bank exceeded 730 thousand, an increase of 8% over last year, which confirms that Israeli policies are moving towards perpetuating actual annexation, not freezing or negotiating.
