Doha- In a very sensitive timing, and with the exacerbation of political and economic crises in Lebanon, the visit of the Lebanese Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, came to Doha, to reaffirm the pivotal role of the State of Qatar in supporting Lebanon’s stability and support.
The visit was characterized by the intensity of files and the depth of discussions, and carried strategic messages that included both the economy and politics, in light of a regional situation that is getting faded.
Beirut relies on the active role played by Doha in the Lebanese file, away from the lineup, and to serve the interest of Lebanon and its people, and then peace talks with senior Qatari officials focused on vital files such as energy, investment, institutions support, and humanitarian aid, as well as exchanging views on the future of the political process in Lebanon, in light of internal divisions and regional pressures.
Salam, Qatar, arrived today, Tuesday, on an official visit, at the head of a ministerial delegation that includes the Minister of Culture Ghassan Salama, the Minister of Energy Joe Sadi, the Minister of Public Works and Transport Fayez Rasamani and Minister of Administrative Development Fadi Makki.
Salam, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani met, where the two sides discussed the files of common concern and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.
The Qatar News Agency had said that the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, received Salam and his accompanying delegation, during which the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of support and development were reviewed, and a number of issues of common interest in regionally and internationally were dealt with.
She explained that the Lebanese side expressed its solidarity with Qatar and the strong condemnation of the Iranian attack on the base of many, as Salam expressed great thanks and appreciation to the State of Qatar and the people of the government and people for its supportive stances and assistance during the current stage that the region is going through.
The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, expressed, according to the agency, his thanks to the Lebanese Prime Minister for the solidarity and friendly feelings towards the State of Qatar and its people, stressing Qatar’s continuous support for the Lebanese Republic and its brotherly people towards achieving peace, development and prosperity.

In a press conference after the talks, the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani said that he discussed with the Prime Minister of Lebanon to cooperate in reconstruction, energy and support for brothers, in addition to the developments of the region.
Qatar’s condemnation of Israel’s violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty and expressed his hope for a better future for the Syrian -Lebanese relations.
Salam also praised the continuous support of the State of Qatar for Lebanon, noting the continuation of the discussion to reach an understanding in the field of energy, explaining that the discussions touched on the political side also, stressing that the Israeli occupation did not abide by the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon, and that it seeks to mobilize support to pressure them from the Arab brothers to the Security Council and the United States.
Salam emphasized that there is no stability in the region without Israel’s complete withdrawal from the occupied territories, condemning the Israeli aggression against Iran, which he described as a violation of its sovereignty and international law.

Override the ordeal and restore wellness
The editor -in -chief of the Qatari newspaper, Faleh Al -Hajri, believes that the State of Qatar believes that the stability of Lebanon is the stability of the entire region, and deals with the Lebanese file from a humanitarian and moral standpoint away from any political accounts, explaining that the Qatari message is that Lebanon will not be left alone, and that Qatar was and will remain by its side, supporting it in order to overcome its adversity and restore its well -being.
Al -Hajri said in a statement to Al -Jazeera Net that the Lebanese Qatari discussions in Doha focused on many sectors, including the fields of energy, health, education, reconstruction efforts, and others, explaining that Qatar, through its multiple initiatives towards Lebanon, confirms its steadfast commitment to supporting this brotherly country.
He pointed out that the last of these initiatives was through contributing to the payment of the salaries of the Lebanese army, in a move that expresses keenness to support the Lebanese state institutions in critical moments the country is going through.
Geopolitical risk
In a statement to Al -Jazeera Net, a professor of economics at Doha University of Science and Technology, Fadi Abu Dawood, said in a statement to Al -Jazeera Net that what we are witnessing is a clear model of fruitful cooperation between Qatar and Lebanon, in light of the current geopolitical challenges taking place in the region.
Abu Dawood believes that this cooperation reflects the depth of the already existing alliances between the two countries, and stresses the importance of activating these partnerships to confront regional risks and enhancing economic stability, explaining that the economy of countries is based on the basis of certainty and stability, and that reducing risks represents a fundamental element to attract investments and ensure sustainable growth, which is what the two countries are already working on.
He pointed out that the geopolitical risks weaken the appetite of investors, lead to fluctuations in currencies, and negatively affect global markets, including stock markets and capital markets, and therefore facing these challenges requires a unified position and a common vision, noting that Qatar’s support for Lebanon in such conditions that it is going through is a certificate of confidence for investors in the interest of the faltering Lebanese economy.

Support stability efforts
For his part, economist Hashem Al -Sayed said in a statement to Al -Jazeera Net that this visit comes within the framework of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries and pushing it towards wider horizons in a way that contributes to achieving common interests, and supports stability and development efforts, especially in these circumstances in the region.
He said: We saw last April during the Lebanese President’s visit to the State of Qatar, where Qatar announced the renewal of a gift of $ 60 million to support the salaries of the Lebanese army, in addition to 162 military vehicles and this gift was to enable the army to carry out its national tasks to maintain stability and control the borders on all Lebanese territory.
He explained that Qatar participated in the international conference to support the people of Lebanon and its sovereignty held in October 2024 and in addition to political support there also providing direct humanitarian and health assistance from Qatar to Lebanon in critical times as we saw this during the Israeli aggression in 2024 where Doha activated an air bridge to provide more than 150 tons of medical and food aid, and also played a pivotal role in the truce efforts, which resulted in an agreement to cease fireflow the past.
