The NATO chief has again attacked China, accusing it of playing a decisive role in the conflict in Ukraine.
At the NATO summit in Washington, Jens Stoltenberg once again attacked China. He accused Beijing of playing a role “determining” in the Ukrainian conflict.
“As NATO Allies agreed in their statement today, China has become a decisive supporter of Russia’s war against Ukraine. Its support increases Russia’s threat to Euro-Atlantic security. China cannot allow the continuation of Europe’s largest war in recent history without harming its interests and reputation. Tomorrow, NATO Allies will meet with our four Indo-Pacific partners and the European Union, and we will continue to deepen our cooperation to address common challenges.“, said the NATO Secretary General.
This message, which sounds like a warning to Beijing, immediately caused China to react. In a statement, the country asked NATO to stop “to incite confrontation”.
Beijing, which has never condemned the invasion of Ukraine in 2022, says it is neutral in this conflict. China does not supply weapons to Moscow. But it provides it with essential equipment for its war effort.
