The people of Nablus in the West Bank buried the body of the American-Turkish activist Aisha Nur Ezgi Egi, who was killed by Israeli occupation forces last Friday.

The funeral prayer was held after the body was taken out of Rafidia Governmental Hospital on Monday afternoon. The Palestinian security forces organized an official funeral procession for the activist, in the presence of Nablus Governor Ghassan Daghlas and representatives of civil society.

The body of the deceased is expected to be transferred to Türkiye after that, according to what was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara.

A Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman said that at the request of Aisha Noor’s family, Turkey is working to transfer the body to the country as soon as possible.

The Israeli occupation army killed activist Aisha Nour while she was participating in the weekly anti-settlement march in the town of Beita, south of Nablus, on Friday.

A Palestinian forensic doctor said she was shot in the head by an Israeli sniper during a peaceful protest, while her family called on US President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of State Antony Blinken to “conduct an independent investigation into the unlawful killing of an American citizen and ensure full accountability for the parties involved” after the Israeli military said it was investigating.
