A wall collapsed in a highway tunnel in Italy, in Pescara, on the Adriatic coast.

The incident seriously disrupted traffic but caused no injuries: the driver of the car that collided with the debris was unhurt.

According to the road management company, excessive rainfall was the cause of the damage, as well as an anomaly in the delivery of water to the land above the tunnel.

Traffic is still closed in both directions.
