Moscow opposes any escalation on the Korean Peninsula


Nearly three months after Sergei Lavrov’s visit to Pyongyang, the head of North Korean diplomacy met her counterpart in Moscow.

At the heart of their discussions, in particular, the tense relations between the two Koreas. Sergey Lavrov said Russia opposes any escalation on the Korean Peninsula.

Pyongyang and Moscow have become much closer in recent years. North Korea, which recognized the Russian annexation of four Ukrainian regions in 2022, is accused by Washington of supplying weapons to Russia.
