Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll from the Israeli aggression had risen to 23,357 martyrs, noting that 59,410 others had been injured since the start of the war on October 7th.
The Ministry reported – in a statement – that 147 Palestinians were martyred during the last 24 hours, noting the inability of ambulance and civil defense crews to reach victims still under the rubble.
For its part, the government media office in Gaza announced that the number of martyred journalists inside the Strip had risen to 115 since last October 7, following the martyrdom of 3 journalists today in Israeli bombing.
The office added – in a statement – that the three journalists are Ahmed Badir, Sherif Okasha, and Heba Al-Abadla.
Earlier today, the government office said that the Israeli army bombed an inhabited house adjacent to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, resulting in the death and injury of 40 people.
More than once, the government office and human rights organizations said that the Israeli army – since the beginning of the war on Gaza – has been deliberately targeting Palestinian journalists to prevent reporting the crimes it commits in Gaza.
Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that 6 Palestinians, including paramedics, were killed in an Israeli bombing of an ambulance on Salah al-Din Street in the central Gaza Strip. For its part, the Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed the death of 4 of its crews in that bombing.
Medical situation
For his part, the Director of the International Committee of the Red Cross told Tel Aviv Tribune that the situation is very difficult in all hospitals in the Gaza Strip, and the medical supplies in the Strip are not at all sufficient to provide relief to the wounded and sick, and hospitals in northern Gaza are no longer able to provide any surgical services.
He added that it is the responsibility of the parties to the conflict to respect international humanitarian law and protect civilians, noting that diplomatic activity continues to appeal to countries with influence on the parties to the conflict.
The Director of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, announced the cancellation of the organization’s mission to provide medical aid to Gaza today due to security concerns.
He added that after nearly 100 days of war, the situation in Gaza is indescribable, and that providing humanitarian aid still faces insurmountable challenges.
He pointed out that nearly 90% of the population of the Gaza Strip had been displaced, and that many of them had to be displaced several times.
