A social movement which affects around 100,000 passengers. Some support the demands of the strikers, who are calling for a 12.5% wage increase.
“I think it’s a good thing. Because the employer will not come and offer more money on its own initiative. So there has to be a little pressure behind“, explains a passenger.
“Everyone has to go on strike sometimes. But I don’t understand why this is done in such a haphazard way. Negotiations are supposed to take place tomorrow. They could have waited“, explains another passenger.
At the beginning of February, a strike, for the same reasons, led to the cancellation of nearly 90% of flights. So far, Lufthansa’s proposals have been deemed insufficient.
According to the airline, between 10 and 20% of scheduled flights will be operated this Tuesday, February 20. Negotiations will resume Wednesday morning, just after the end of the strike.
