The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip said that 350,000 people with chronic diseases are not receiving their medications as a result of the ongoing Israeli war since last October 7.
Ministry spokesman Ashraf Al-Qudra warned – in a brief statement on Tuesday – of serious health complications to which these patients are exposed.
Al-Qudra called on international institutions to urgently provide medicines to those suffering from chronic diseases.
In another statement, Al-Qudra announced the running out of nitrous gas in operating rooms, and the severe shortage of other medical gases. Without further details.
Nitrous gas is used to anesthetize patients during surgical operations.
Palestinian and international health and human rights institutions have warned of the collapse of the health sector in Gaza as a result of the continuing war.
More than once, the Ministry of Health has warned of the scarcity of medicines and medical supplies in the Gaza Strip, and that some of them have run out due to the many infections arriving at hospitals.
A number of Palestinians in Gaza said, in previous times, that they could not find their medications in pharmacies or hospitals.
Since the seventh of last October, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on Gaza that, as of Tuesday, has left 24,285 dead and 61,154 injured, and caused the displacement of more than 85% (about 1.9 million people) of the Strip’s population, according to the Palestinian authorities and the United Nations. .
