The military and strategic expert, Major General Fayez Al -Duwairi, believes that the American decision to withdraw the aircraft carrier Harry Truman from the Middle East is a message of reassurance to Iran, and a message of assertion to Israel that “the support that could have been provided with the existence of an Iranian threat to later.”
Al -Duwairi’s words came in the context of his comment on what was confirmed by an American official to the island that the aircraft carrier Harry Truman is on the way to leaving the Middle East, and that there are no American plans to replace it.
Major General Al -Duwairi explained that the withdrawal of the Truman aircraft carrier means that one aircraft carrier remains in the area with the aim of maintaining stability, noting that the Truman aircraft carrier had come to the area under complex circumstances that warn the worst.
These conditions relate to the possibility of a military strike against Iran, and in light of the confrontation between the Lebanese Hezbollah and Israel, as well as the confrontation between the Ansar Allah group (the Houthis) and Israel.
The military and strategic expert believes that these conditions have changed during the last period, as there are negotiations in the Sultanate of Oman between Americans and Iranians, and there is a mutual ceasefire between Houthi and the United States of America, in addition to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s attempt to leave the American House.
The administration of President Donald Trump has held 4 rounds of negotiations with Tehran in an effort to conclude a new agreement on its nuclear program, which raised Israel’s concern.
The Omani Foreign Ministry also recently announced the ceasefire agreement between the United States and the Houthis, adding that “according to the agreement, no party will target the other, including American ships, which guarantees freedom of navigation.”
On the other hand, the military and strategic expert said that the withdrawal of the Truman aircraft carrier from the area reminds what former US President Barack Obama did when he focused on Southeast Asia, considering that the maritime, air and land striking force of the American army is interconnected in this region, which the Americans consider the greatest threat to their national security.
The Pentagon (Pentagon) announced last month to send a aircraft carrier and deploy additional warplanes to strengthen US maritime assets in the Middle East, amid a bombing campaign in Yemen and the escalation of tension with Iran.
The move came after the Houthis claimed responsibility for attacks that they said targeted the Harry S Truman aircraft carrier in the Red Sea. However, Washington has not confirmed attacks on its holder.
