Military and strategic expert Colonel Hatem Karim Al-Falahi said that the transfer of military operations from the Rafah area to northern Gaza gave the Palestinian resistance factions new opportunities for confrontation.
Al-Falahi explained – during the military analysis segment – that the resistance’s continued implementation of its operations despite the intensity of the Israeli aggression confirms its ability to adapt to various field conditions and develop its combat methods, and also indicates the success of its strategy of attrition in confronting the occupation forces.
The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, published pictures of what it said was an artillery shelling operation on Israeli soldiers and vehicles that were penetrating the Al-Geneina neighborhood, east of the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.
Effectiveness of operations
The video showed the vehicles being monitored during their incursion into the operation area and being targeted with mortar shells on December 12 and 15.
In detailing military tactics, Al-Falahi pointed out that sniping operations have witnessed a noticeable escalation in the recent period, especially in the areas of Al-Qassassin and the eastern areas of Jabalia.
He stressed that the effectiveness of these operations lies in the use of rifles with a range of up to two kilometers and equipped with a 14.5 mm caliber, which makes them capable of penetrating more than one target per hit.
According to the military expert, a special committee of experts was formed to study the methods and tactics of snipers in confrontation, adding that the resistance succeeded in turning this weapon into an effective tool of attrition against the occupation forces.
Regarding missile capabilities, Al-Falahi explained that the resistance uses two types of 107 missiles: the first type is incendiary, and the other is destructive.
Resistance operations
The first missile is 85 centimeters long, while the other is 79 centimeters long, with a weight of approximately 20 kilograms. He confirmed that these missiles can be launched from multiple bases carrying 6, 12, or 18 missiles at once.
Regarding the pace of military operations, Al-Falahi pointed out that although they had decreased relatively, they had maintained their quality and effectiveness.
He stressed that every day witnesses military action by resistance factions, whether landing drones, sniping operations, targeting tanks and bulldozers, or bombing homes.
Al-Falahi pointed out that the fluctuation in the pace of operations is related to two main factors: the first is the possibility of the factions reaching the Israeli forces present inside, and the other is the movement of the Israeli forces, which sometimes turn into easy targets that can be targeted by the resistance.
