The military and strategic expert, Colonel Hatem Al-Falahi, said that the heavy losses suffered by the occupation army in Jabalia so far are due to the nature of the geographical area and the precise defense plan drawn up by the resistance factions in the region.
Al-Falahi added, during his analysis of the military scene in Gaza, that the confrontations between the resistance and the occupation army in Jabalia take place at very close distances, sometimes less than 150 to 100 meters, which is the deadly distance needed by the resistance’s weapons to hunt tanks and armored vehicles.
He explained that military operations indicate the resistance’s direct targeting of the occupation army, especially when its military units shift from attack mode to defense mode, and then become targets for resistance factions.
Colonel Al-Falahi, commenting on the sniping of an Israeli soldier in eastern Jabalia, added that the weapon used is the Ghoul rifle equipped with a telescope that makes its lethal range about two thousand metres, indicating that sniper operations have a very significant impact on the morale of the occupation soldiers.
The military expert attributed the fierce resistance shown by the resistance elements in the field to the fact that its factions in these areas are still strong, ready and able to repel the attempts of the occupation army to penetrate these areas, which he declared that it was unable to enter during the first battle.
Al-Falahi believes that the losses of the occupation army in the mountainous region, Jabalia and Jabalia al-Balad are due to the fact that the theater of operations was very well equipped by the resistance factions and with defensive arrangements that were somewhat different from the rest of the battles that took place in the past.
He said that the resistance factions succeeded in cutting off the supply routes to the occupation army today, Friday, by using heavy and light artillery shelling and other weapons, which forced the occupation to try to secure protection for its sectors using aerial bombardment.
It is likely that Israel’s goal in this military operation is to reach the heart of Jabalia camp, as it is a strong location for the resistance factions in the previous battles that took place between them and the Israeli army.
In a telephone interview with Tel Aviv Tribune correspondent Anas Al-Sharif, he said that Jabalia camp is being subjected to violent raids by the Israeli occupation forces for the sixth day in a row, and that the occupation forces are destroying dozens of residential homes in specific squares located in the heart of the camp.
He added that the camp is also witnessing violent clashes between various resistance factions and the occupation army, which is trying to create a new reality on the ground with this bombing.
