The military and strategic expert, Major General Mohammed Al-Samadi, said that the Israeli occupation used phosphorus bombs and internationally banned weapons in its targeting on Saturday of the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip, during which it announced the liberation of 4 detainees.

He described the violent Israeli bombing – which targeted Al-Nuseirat, the areas east of Deir Al-Balah, and the Bureij and Al-Maghazi camps – as unprecedented in its brutality, and aimed at confusing the resistance and armed factions in those areas.

But Major General Al-Sammadi ruled out that the process of liberating 4 detainees would affect the resistance, and said, “Even if 10 soldiers from the occupation army remain among the prisoners, there will be a pressure card in the hands of the resistance to negotiate with them.”

According to the Israeli military spokesman, 4 detainees were rescued in a joint operation by the IDF, the Israeli General Security Service (Shin Bet), and the Israel Police, based on intelligence information.

In the details of the Israeli operation, the military and strategic expert suggested that the occupation army may have had intelligence information regarding the prisoners, as it carried out a limited incursion into the Nuseirat area 3 days ago as part of what is called force reconnaissance.

He said that the entry of an Israeli special force into the Nuseirat camp in an operation that lasted 3 hours may be due to information he obtained about the presence of detainees or figures from the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the area.

He added that the four detainees whom the occupation army claimed to have liberated did not know whether they were alive or wounded.

Major General Al-Sammadi also downplayed the importance of the Israeli operation, and said that after 246 days of war, the occupation is trying to present an image of victory to the Israeli interior.

The occupation army targeted the Nuseirat camp and its surroundings with air, land and sea bombardment, and Palestinian medical sources confirmed to Tel Aviv Tribune on Saturday that at least 80 Palestinians were martyred and dozens injured.
