Military expert: The occupation avoids confronting the resistance in Gaza and commits massacres under higher orders policy

The military and strategic expert, retired Major General Wassef Erekat, said that the crimes of genocide and ethnic cleansing committed by the occupation army in the Gaza Strip come in implementation of the instructions of the senior leadership of the “Israeli entity,” citing the statements of Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who called for the killing of Palestinians simply because they are Palestinians, and Prime Minister Benjamin. Netanyahu, who refused to talk about humanity and international laws.

Tel Aviv Tribune had broadcast horrific scenes showing stray dogs attacking the bodies of martyrs dumped in the streets in the northern Gaza Strip, while the occupation soldiers had been preventing ambulance and civil defense crews from recovering the bodies for more than 50 days.

Erekat explained that the genocide crimes committed by the occupation in Gaza also come as an extension of a long history of crimes that began with the Stern, Haganah and Irgun gangs in 1948.

The military expert pointed to a dangerous shift in the behavior of the Israeli army, as its soldiers began to avoid direct confrontation with the Palestinian resistance despite being armed with the latest weapons.

Quality processes

Erekat stressed that “the specific operations carried out by the Al-Qassam Brigades and the Al-Quds Brigades in the areas of Beit Lahia, Jabalia and Rafah show a noticeable development in the military performance of the resistance.”

He pointed out that there are large numbers of disabled people among Israeli soldiers, which reflects a state of anxiety and fear among their ranks, explaining that this situation prompted the occupation forces to focus on targeting civilians as part of their policy of genocide.

In his analysis of the Israeli internal situation, Erekat stressed that the Zionist entity is based on three main pillars: the army with its security and intelligence arms, the settlers, and the immigrants.

He pointed out that these pillars received painful blows, as the settlers did not return to their areas, and more than a million Israelis immigrated.

According to Erekat, the Israeli soldier showed a clear inability in street fighting, especially in narrow areas and the new geographical environment that resulted from the destruction of 80% of the geography of the Gaza Strip, pointing out that this inability clearly appears when there is a direct confrontation with the Palestinian resistance.

Moral downfall

Erekat pointed out that the moral decline of the Israeli army is evident in the statements of its field commanders, citing an officer who ordered his soldiers to kill children and enjoy killing them, and a commander in the Engineering Corps who gave his daughter the gift of blowing up a civilian building.

Last July, Foreign Policy magazine said that the Israeli army – despite its reputation as a military institution that boasts of being “the most ethical military institution in the world” – has demonstrated through the war it is waging in Gaza that it has serious problems related to command and control.

The magazine pointed out – in an article by Benjamin V. Allison, a historian specializing in US foreign and internal security policy – that the human costs of the occupation army’s operations were staggering.

The military expert stressed that these crimes were documented in international forums, “which led to placing the Zionist entity on the blacklist and classifying Netanyahu and his Minister of War as war criminals,” noting that the Palestinian resistance, despite its modest capabilities, proves its ability to confront, and will continue to do so as long as the Israeli occupation of the Gaza Strip continues. .

Netanyahu’s crimes

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued two arrest warrants against Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant, and said that there were “logical reasons” to believe that they had committed war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip.

The court added in a statement, “There is reason to believe that Netanyahu and Gallant supervised attacks on the civilian population.”

She said that the war crimes attributed to Netanyahu and Gallant include the use of starvation as a weapon of war, and also include crimes against humanity, namely murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts.
