Israeli officials continue to talk about what they call the third phase of their military operation in the Gaza Strip, which was indicated by Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant, who stated that he would discuss in Washington the transition to this phase.
Commenting on the Israeli minister’s statement, the military and strategic expert, Colonel Hatem Karim Al-Falahi, asked about the capabilities of the occupation army that would allow it to open other fronts in the West Bank and Lebanon, stressing that the occupation’s talk about the “third phase” confirms that it did not achieve the goals of the war it launched in the Gaza Strip. .
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority quoted sources in the Israeli occupation army as saying, “They only have weeks to end the military operation in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, and move to the next stage of the fighting.”
Colonel Al-Falahi recalled – in an analysis of the military scene in Gaza – what he had previously said, that the Israeli army would be facing a major strategic impasse after the Rafah operation, especially since the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) maintained its strength during this period, and that the Israeli prisoners held by the Palestinian resistance in Gaza were not released. Release them.
In light of its failure to achieve the goals it set, the Israeli army will be forced to remain in Rafah in order to carry out other military operations similar to security operations, according to Colonel Al-Falahi, who ruled out the possibility of the occupation army succeeding in achieving the goals of the war through what is called the third phase of military operations.
He said, “If the major Israeli maneuvers that took place in large sectors did not achieve the goals of the war, how could the third phase achieve these goals?”
Regarding the occupation’s claims that it would announce what he called the defeat of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, the military and strategic expert downplayed such statements, and said that reality imposes itself in this matter, pointing out that the Israeli Defense Minister’s going to the United States of America to discuss war issues confirms that Israel faces a major problem regarding the management of the war.
He also said that Israel would not enter into a war with Lebanon without an American green light, noting that experts who worked in important Israeli security institutions say that opening the northern front is a form of madness for Benjamin Netanyahu’s government.
Colonel Al-Falahi concluded that there are many question marks regarding the strategy that the Netanyahu government wants to implement during the coming period, whether in the Gaza Strip or on the northern front with Lebanon.
