The military and strategic expert, Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi, denied the occupation’s claims that the fighting between his army and Palestinian resistance fighters was taking place inside the tunnels deep in the Shuja’iya neighborhood, denying that the occupation army had reached the heart of the neighborhood in Gaza City, north of the Strip.
He confirmed that the fighting is taking place on the northeastern outskirts of Shuja’iya, specifically near Baghdad Street, a distance of hundreds of meters on the northeastern side of Shuja’iya in the Gaza Strip.
Al-Duwairi spoke about the ferocity of the fighting and that it is taking place in buildings and not in tunnels, “because the mechanism of dealing with the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), does not allow the occupation forces to enter tunnels in built-up areas,” and they may be able to enter them in open areas, as he also explained. Since the beginning of the war on Gaza, there have been 4 attempts to enter the tunnels, and the tunnel opening was blown up 3 times, and the first time the explosion was inside the tunnel.
He pointed out that the Al-Qassam Brigades and the rest of the Palestinian resistance factions are managing the defensive battle with intelligence and skill, and on the other hand, the occupation army has now begun to pay the tax, and “the deeper it goes into Gaza City or Khan Yunis and other areas of the Strip, the cost bill will increase and neither Israel nor those behind it will be able to pay the tax.” Pay the bill for the costs.
Regarding the impact of losses among the occupation soldiers on the course of the war, the military expert pointed to what he called the turning point that occurred in the American position, which he saw as having its causes, the most important of which is that the occupation army did not achieve any military achievement despite the support it received from the Americans and Europeans, in addition to the failure of The American and Western assessments of the extent of the ability of the Al-Qassam Brigades and the rest of the factions to fight and to withstand, and it was a stunning surprise.
The resistance has the upper hand
Al-Duwairi also pointed to the change in international positions and the loss of credibility of the United States of America before the world, which talks about democracy and human rights.
Earlier yesterday, Tuesday, US President Joe Biden said that Israel had begun to lose the support of the international community with its indiscriminate bombing of the Gaza Strip, and that its prime minister would not be able in the future to say “no” to a Palestinian state, calling on him to change his government.
Al-Duwairi concluded that Israel and America do not have time to achieve any military victory, and the Palestinian resistance will have the upper hand, “and I expect it will remain so.”
He believed that the war in Gaza will stop when the street in Israel and the world puts pressure on it, noting that the divisions taking place in Israel have begun to appear, and American signals have also begun to appear to rearrange the ruling house in Israel. It is likely that Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant will take advantage of this and leave the war council and form A new government, which will mean the fall of the emergency government and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu going to prison.
