In Yemen, Houthi rebels released images showing a military exercise simulating an attack on Israeli military positions. This video, named “Yemen is the support of Palestine”shows fighters storming structures and simulating the arrest of an Israeli soldier.
The rebels also vowed to retaliate for US and British strikes that targeted dozens of targets in Yemen, in response to attacks by Iran-backed Yemeni rebels on ships.
For its part, Washington has affirmed that the strikes against groups supported by Iran are only “the beginning” of their response. US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said further action would be taken over the drone attack in Jordan that killed three US soldiers last Sunday. A strike which according to Washington would have been designed by Tehran.
In Iraq, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani visited Baghdad hospital to meet members of the Popular Mobilization Forces injured in U.S. airstrikes on their positions near the Syrian border.
The Iraqi government spokesman said the strikes in the Iraqi town of Al-Qaim, near the Syrian border, killed 16 people, including civilians, and injured 25 others, as well as “significant damage” to homes and private property.
