Members of the Knesset demand the implementation of the generals’ plan in the Gaza Strip news

Israel Today newspaper said that 8 members of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Security Committee requested, in a letter to Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, the implementation of the so-called generals’ plan in the Gaza Strip.

The text of the letter stated, “We demand that the Gaza Strip be demilitarized and that military rule be imposed on it to eliminate Hamas.”

The eight members indicated in their letter that the implementation of the generals’ plan “will make it possible to cleanse the sector of the enemy and strive towards victory.”

The generals’ plan is a military plan proposed by former Israeli army general Giora Eiland to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and it was adopted by a large number of army generals, so it was given this name.

The plan was drawn up in September 2024, with the aim of forcibly displacing the population of the northern Gaza Strip, by imposing a complete siege on the region, including preventing the entry of humanitarian aid, to starve the remaining civilians, as well as the resistance fighters, and put them before two options: death or surrender.

Closed area

Then later, the northern Gaza Strip will be transformed into a “closed military zone” with the aim of completely eliminating any Hamas presence in the region.

The generals’ plan assumes that the siege is the most effective solution to end the war and reduce the death toll of Israeli occupation soldiers. It is also estimated that controlling northern Gaza could push residents of other areas to rise up against Hamas.
