He works for a greener world by working with discarded metals.
In Csesznek, a village in Hungary, not far from the hills north of Lake Balaton (130 kilometers from Budapest), we meet Zoltán Rónaszéki. This former automobile repairer, born in 1994, sets an example in metal recycling by creating spectacular sculptures from rusty utensils, machine parts and tools.
Thanks to his previous job, Zoltán had many links with workshops and a network of mechanics. The latter, residing in the towns of Veszprém and Győr, collected waste for him to which he gave a second life.
Today, he continues to collect all kinds of disposable metals from homes, workshops, businesses and eventually finds a place for them in his sculptures. He was able to quit his job and continue creating full time.
As explained to the Budapest Reporter, Zoltán Rónaszék most often sculpts iconic film characters (he spent three months on Mirage from “Transformers”). Today, he presents his work as an art that demonstrates environmental awareness.
