Medical sources reported to Tel Aviv Tribune that a number of medical staff at Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabalia, northern Gaza Strip, were burned to death by fires set by the occupation forces in the hospital as a result of the fire spreading to large sections of it.
Earlier, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent said that the Israeli occupation forces burned “Kamal Adwan Hospital”, stormed it hours after its siege, and asked its administration to remove the medical staff, patients and companions, in conjunction with gunfire and shelling from tanks in its vicinity.
The nurse at Kamal Adwan Hospital, Shorouk Al-Rantisi, said in an interview with Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent that the occupation forces assaulted the hospital staff, burned its contents, forced the hospital staff to evacuate it, and deliberately insulted them.
She added that the occupation forces arrested Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya, director of the hospital, and took him, along with a number of other staff, displaced people, and patients, to an unknown destination.
The government media office in Gaza said that the occupation detained 350 people inside the hospital, including 180 staff and 75 patients and their companions, and gave them some time to go out to the square. He added that the occupation forces forced the detainees to take off their clothes and took them to an unknown destination.
The media office also said that the army took hospital staff, the wounded, their companions, and a number of displaced people to an unknown destination, and that it sent explosive robots to blow up the hospital’s surroundings. In turn, the Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed that the occupation took dozens of Kamal Adwan Hospital staff, including its director, Hossam Abu Safiya, to a center for investigation.
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority published a video of the process of evacuating “Kamal Adwan Hospital” of what it said were suspects. The clip shows a group of men stripped of their clothes and being led under the threat of a military vehicle, with their hands raised.
Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent stated that 30 displaced people arrived at the Indonesian Hospital from Kamal Adwan Hospital with serious health complications.
In a related context, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that the Israeli occupation forces demanded that those trapped in the homes surrounding Kamal Adwan Hospital vacate them or else they would be blown up.
He also reported that the occupation forces arrested the director of the Civil Defense in the northern Gaza Strip, Ahmed Al-Kahlot, while releasing journalist Muhammad Al-Sharif, after arresting him from inside Kamal Adwan Hospital earlier.
death sentence
For its part, the World Health Organization said that the attack on Kamal Adwan Hospital put the last main health facility in northern Gaza out of service.
She added that initial reports indicate major burning and destruction of some of the hospital’s main departments during the attack, and that the systematic dismantling of the health system in Gaza is a death sentence for tens of thousands of Palestinians in need of health care.
The United Nations also warned that Kamal Adwan Hospital is one of the last hospitals still operating in the Gaza Strip, calling for the protection of medical facilities in the Strip.
Stephanie Tremblay, Deputy Spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, urged all parties to comply with their obligations and respect and protect health workers and medical facilities.
Occupation allegations and Hamas’ response
The occupation army said, earlier on Friday, that forces affiliated with the 401st Brigade began working in the Kamal Adwan Hospital area, in Jabalia, after receiving prior intelligence information about the presence of what it called saboteurs, terrorist infrastructure, and the implementation of activities there.

The army claimed that the hospital is considered a center for the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the northern Gaza Strip, and militants worked from it throughout the war.
The Hamas movement categorically denied the presence of any military appearance or resistance members in Kamal Adwan Hospital, whether from Al-Qassam or any other faction.
She said, in a statement, “The enemy’s lies about Kamal Adwan Hospital aim to justify the heinous crime committed by the occupation army.”
The movement confirmed that the hospital was open to everyone and the international and international institutions that know it well, and called on the United Nations to condemn the occupation’s destruction of the hospital and to form an investigation committee into what was committed in northern Gaza.
Hamas considered that the occupation army’s burning of Kamal Adwan Hospital, including the sick, wounded, and displaced people, was a described war crime.
She said that the occupation government is committing crimes in Gaza based on American cover, and from some Western capitals that are partners in the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people.
