An Israeli newspaper investigation that revealed some of the atrocities and genocidal crimes committed by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip received great attention on social media platforms.
The Haaretz investigation was based on the testimonies of Israeli officers and soldiers who served in the Netzarim axis regarding what was happening there, and some sources said that the units operating there were operating as if they were militias that did not adhere to the rules of military protocol.
According to the Haaretz investigation published yesterday, Wednesday, Israeli officers and soldiers admitted that the army killed numbers of Palestinians with sniper bullets, machine guns, drone missiles, and helicopters.
According to the investigation, among the dead were children, women, and unarmed youth in the Netzarim axis and the area surrounding it, called the “corpse line,” an area that the army considers an “open killing zone, and anyone who enters it is considered a terrorist.”
The Netzarim axis is located in the center of the Gaza Strip, 6 kilometers long and 9 kilometers wide. It was established by the occupation army at the beginning of the war to prevent Palestinians who were displaced from the north to the south of the Strip from returning to their homes.
The commander of the 252nd Military Division – which manages operations in the Netzarim axis – issued orders to the officers and soldiers to kill everyone who approaches the axis, and did not place any restrictions on killing operations, and prohibited any exceptions to them, “even if someone raises the white flag, he must be killed,” and said that there are no flags. White in Netzarim, according to the investigation.
One of the officers of the 252nd Division told the Haaretz newspaper, “The army ordered them to photograph the bodies of the dead (martyrs) and send them to the command to check the identities of their owners,” stressing that on one occasion they sent pictures of 200 dead people, only to discover that only 10 of them belonged to the Hamas movement.
According to the investigation, the soldiers left the bodies after photographing them on the ground, and did not collect them or bury them, but rather left them to the dogs to maul them and eat them.
The investigation coincided with scenes broadcast by Tel Aviv Tribune two days ago showing horrific images of stray dogs eating the bodies of Palestinian martyrs dumped in the roads in the northern Gaza Strip who had been killed by Israeli bullets.
maelstrom
Social networking sites were filled with angry comments after the Israeli newspaper’s investigation, which showed some of the crimes committed against the residents of the Gaza Strip during the current war.
An account called “Your Neighborhood” commented, saying, “This is the genocide that you hear about, and we are the ones living its horrors. This is the Holocaust that you see, and we are trapped in its furnace, and this is the blood that echoed to you, but you did not move to support it.”
Majid Abu Diak said in his tweet, “Our blood will not be cheap, and it will turn into a curse that haunts our executioners until they are gone. Remember that the occupiers are always brutal in their final moments, and this is what is happening to the Zionists now.”
Khalil Al-Tweiti also said, “They are fighting their feelings of humiliation and defeat, and they are trying, with their crime and this atrocity, to restore some respect to their wasted dignity.”
Maya Rahal strongly condemned the Israeli crimes committed in Gaza, and said, “Killing for the sole purpose of killing… The fascist army, which is considered the most moral in the world, deliberately kills them in cold blood and leaves their bodies in the streets to be eaten by dogs and animals. This is brutal, sadistic, and inhuman behavior followed by the occupation army.”
Abdel Rahman denounced the international silence imposed on Israel’s crimes in the coastal strip. He said, “There is no mercy or pity. They kill everything that moves without any reason. It is an unparalleled crime and the world is silent about all these atrocities.” Then he concluded his tweet by asking, “For how long will all this last?” Injustice?! For how long?!
Haaretz newspaper concluded its investigation with a horrific story told by one of the soldiers of the 99th Division operating in the Netzarim axis. He said that a man was walking around with two children who entered the area and the soldiers photographed them with a drone, and confirmed that they were unarmed, then a helicopter immediately came and killed them all with an air-to-surface missile.
