A Palestinian was seriously injured by Israeli occupation bullets during the storming of the town of Halhul, north of the city of Hebron, in the south of the occupied West Bank, amid massive Israeli incursions into various towns and cities in the West Bank.
A medical source told Tel Aviv Tribune that a young man arrived at Hebron Governmental Hospital with serious injuries. The Palestinian Ministry of Health also stated in a brief statement that a 26-year-old young man was critically wounded by occupation bullets in Halhul.
Eyewitnesses told Anadolu Agency that the Israeli occupation forces stormed the town of Halhul and fired live bullets and gas bombs during confrontations with young men in the town who threw stones at their military vehicles.
In addition to Halhul, the occupation forces also stormed the city of Dura, south of Hebron, and also stormed the village of Al-Mughair, northeast of Ramallah Governorate, Al-Bireh in the central West Bank, and the town of Azzun, east of Qalqilya.
The occupation forces also stormed the Ras Shehadeh neighborhood in the Al-Salam suburb in the occupied Jerusalem district and closed all roads leading to the neighborhood to demolish an under-construction residential building belonging to a Palestinian family. They also bulldozed two streets in the Al-Salam suburb, which led to the destruction of the infrastructure in the place.
According to statistics issued by the Jerusalem Governorate, since October 7 last year, the occupation authorities have carried out about 433 bulldozing and demolition operations in the Jerusalem Governorate.
Settler attacks
On a related note, extremist settlers erected a menorah on one of the historical buildings in the “Masafer Yatta” area, south of the city of Hebron in the West Bank, and held a celebration of the Jewish Festival of Lights. They also performed Talmudic prayers in the place, after they took control of it about two years ago and prevented the Palestinians from reaching it. Activists also pointed out that settlers take advantage of Jewish holidays to intensify their raids on archaeological and historical sites in the West Bank, with the aim of controlling and Judaizing them.
Thousands of detainees
On the other hand, institutions concerned with the affairs of Palestinian prisoners revealed, on Tuesday, that the occupation army arrested 8,800 Palestinians in the West Bank during the year 2024, and 14,300 since the start of the genocidal war in the Gaza Strip (the number does not include arrests in Gaza, which are estimated in the thousands).
The joint report issued by the Commission for Ex-Prisoners’ Affairs, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, and the Addameer Prisoner Care and Human Rights Foundation stated that the year 2024 is the bloodiest year in the history of the conflict with the occupation.

The occupation also arrested 145 journalists and 320 doctors, the majority of whom were from the Gaza Strip, and issued about 10,000 administrative detention orders in the West Bank, including new orders and renewal orders, including orders against children and women.
The report stated that arrest campaigns are accompanied by escalating crimes and violations, including: acts of abuse, severe beatings, and threats against detainees and their families, in addition to widespread sabotage and destruction of citizens’ homes, and the confiscation of vehicles, money, and gold jewelry.
He indicated that the total number of prisoners in Israeli prisons until December 2024 amounted to more than 10,300, including 3,428 administrative detainees, including at least 100 children and 22 female prisoners.
In parallel with the war of extermination in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army expanded its operations and settlers escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, resulting in 835 martyrs and about 6,700 wounded, according to official Palestinian data.
