Today, Saturday, thousands of people demonstrated in solidarity with the residents of the Gaza Strip, in many Arab and international countries, denouncing the Israeli aggression against the besieged Strip, and demanding an immediate end to the massacres and war that has been ongoing for about 8 months in Gaza.
The demonstrators demanded an end to the war and the punishment of those responsible for the genocide in Gaza, which is witnessing a devastating aggression that left tens of thousands of martyrs and wounded, most of them women and children, and unprecedented destruction of infrastructure, buildings, hospitals and schools.
In the Austrian capital, demonstrations took place in which participants demanded an end to the Israeli war on Gaza, the entry of humanitarian aid, the opening of the crossings and an end to the siege.
In the French capital, demonstrators gathered in Republic Square denounced what they described as the crime of genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, demanding the protection of civilians in Rafah and the entire Strip.
The demonstrators accused Western governments of collusion with Israel, and called for Israeli political leaders, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to be held accountable.
The French city of Lyon also witnessed mass demonstrations in support of the residents of Gaza and in rejection of the continuation of the war waged by Israel.
The demonstrators denounced the continued targeting of civilians, the continued state of siege and the suffocation of the Gaza Strip. They also called for an immediate ceasefire, an end to the siege, and enabling relief and humanitarian organizations to provide assistance to residents and displaced people.
Demonstrations in 20 British cities
In Britain, demonstrations took place in more than 20 cities to demand a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Demonstrators in Manchester raised Palestinian flags and expressed their condemnation of the continued Israeli bombing and targeting of civilians.
London also witnessed a gathering of demonstrators in the Camden area, which is the district of opposition party leader Keir Starmer, whose party is expected to win the general elections within weeks. They demanded that he support an immediate end to the war on Gaza, and hold Israel accountable for the genocide and war crimes committed by its army in Gaza.
In Denmark, the city of Aarhus witnessed demonstrations demanding an end to the war and the siege on Gaza, and the opening of crossings to enable civilians to receive humanitarian aid. The demonstrators denounced the continued Israeli bombing of civilian and displaced areas.
Demonstrations in Arab countries
In the Arab world, hundreds of Moroccan demonstrators, in vigils in about 40 cities, called for support and support for the Palestinian resistance. The demonstrators urged the Arab and Islamic peoples to continue using the weapon of boycott.
Jordanians also demonstrated in the center of the capital, Amman, against the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip. The demonstrators denounced the massacres committed by Israel against the residents of the Gaza Strip.
Demonstrations also took place on Habib Bourguiba Street in Tunis, in support of the resistance and condemning the massacres committed by the Israeli occupation.
Participants in the protest – called for by the Ansar Palestine Association – raised slogans calling for an end to the aggression against the Gaza Strip, the opening of the crossings and the delivery of aid.
The participants in the protest also called for the enactment of a law criminalizing all forms of normalization with the Israeli occupation.
Türkiye demonstrations
Today, many Turkish states witnessed demonstrations in solidarity with Palestine and to denounce the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since last October.
In Istanbul, the largest Turkish city, a group of motorcyclists organized a demonstration during which they rode their bikes towards the Israeli Consulate General building in the Besiktas area on the European side of the city.
The demonstrators raised Turkish and Palestinian flags, chanting “Long live Palestine” and chants denouncing the massacres and genocide committed by Israel in Gaza.
In Afyonkarahisar Province (west), students from the Faculty of Education and health sector workers went out in a silent demonstration, denouncing the Israeli attacks on Gaza.
In the state of Gaziantep (south), the Palestine Initiative organized a protest demonstration demanding an end to the war on Gaza, and denouncing the Israeli attacks on the Strip.
As for Sivas (central), the state witnessed the launching ceremony of two trucks carrying humanitarian aid that was collected through citizen initiatives and is scheduled to be sent to the Palestinian people.
The Israeli war on Gaza, which has been ongoing since October 7, has left more than 118,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and about 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly.
Israel continues this war, ignoring a resolution from the UN Security Council demanding that it stop the fighting immediately, and orders from the Court of Justice to stop its attack on Rafah, and take immediate measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
