Nine Palestinians were killed and others were injured on Tuesday in a series of Israeli airstrikes that targeted homes and a civilian vehicle in Khan Yunis and Deir al-Balah in the Gaza Strip, while heavy rains swept through the tents of displaced people in several areas of the Strip.
The Palestinian Civil Defense in Gaza said in a statement that its crews recovered 5 martyrs and more than 10 injuries as a result of targeting the Abu Harb family home in the Qizan al-Najjar area in Khan Yunis.
He added that his crews also recovered two martyrs and five injuries as a result of targeting the Abu Jarbou family’s house in the Tahlia area in Khan Yunis.
A medical source reported that two people were killed and three others were injured as a result of shelling that targeted a civilian car near the Al-Matahin intersection, east of Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip.
A local source said that the Israeli army expanded its operations to demolish residential buildings south of Al-Sabra neighborhood and around the university college south of Al-Zeitoun neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City.
These areas and the areas south and east of the Zeitoun neighborhood witnessed intermittent artillery shelling and gunfire from Israeli vehicles and helicopters in the vicinity of the university college southwest of Gaza City.
Israeli gunboats fired shells intermittently southwest of Gaza City and northwest of Beit Lahia town in the northern Gaza Strip.
Flooded tents
In another aspect of suffering, heavy rains swept through the tents of the displaced in several areas of the Gaza Strip, exacerbating the suffering that has not stopped since the beginning of the Israeli aggression.
About two million displaced Palestinians in the governorates of the Gaza Strip are living in harsh living conditions and forced displacement, with the approach of winter and the rainy season inside tents made of wood, nylon and cloth that have worn out and are completely out of service amid the climate conditions in Gaza, especially after 11 continuous months of displacement and the inhumane conditions accompanying it.
With absolute American support, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in more than 137,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children.
In contempt of the international community, Israel continues this war, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to stop it immediately, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and to improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
