French President Emmanuel Macron said that he contacted Sunday by his Iranian counterpart Masoud Bouchakian, and discussed with him the nuclear and ballistic files and other issues.
He added in a post on the X platform, that his messages during the call included confirming the return to the negotiating table to address issues related to ballistic missiles and the nuclear program, as well as resuming the work of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Iran.
Macron revealed that his conversation with Bazshkian had the release of two French citizens, which Iran was arrested, he said.
Macron called for respecting the ceasefire between Iran and Israel βto help bring peace to the region.β
The talks come 6 days after the ceasefire between Israel and Iran.
Israel launched an air aggression against Iran on June 13, as it bombed many nuclear facilities, military bases and even civil facilities, which led to hundreds of deaths, including senior military leaders.
On the other hand, Iran responded with missile strikes targeting sensitive areas in Israel, and led to dozens of deaths and hundreds of wounded.
The United States interfered in the war alongside Israel and dropped miraculous bombs on 3 nuclear facilities in Iran on June 22.
Under an American pressure, Iran and Israel reached a ceasefire agreement on June 24.
