The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip published, on Monday, a list of the names of Palestinians who were martyred during the “genocidal war” that Israel has been waging since October 7.
The list included the names of 34,344 Palestinians who were martyred during the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, including 11,983 children under the age of 18.
Among these children, the Ministry documented the names of about 710 children who were killed and were under one year old. The Ministry also documented in the list the names of 2,734 Palestinians over the age of 60.
Yesterday, Sunday, the government media office in Gaza said in a statement that the number of martyrs and missing persons in the war reached 51,206 Palestinians, including 16,795 children and 171 infants who were born and killed during the war, and 710 who were killed when they were less than one year old.
The government office recorded the death of about 36 Palestinians as a result of famine out of the total number of dead, while the number of women killed during the “war of extermination”, according to the government office, reached 11,378 women.
According to the office, the number of Palestinians injured as a result of the war reached about 95,337.
According to the government media office, the difference in numbers between it and the Ministry of Health is due to the fact that the ministry relies on the numbers according to the protocol in effect according to the World Health Organization, which is based on the number of martyrs who arrive at hospitals and undergo the medical examination process, and their martyrdom is confirmed and their bodies are handed over to their families.
The government media office figures include the Ministry of Health’s figures in addition to those who were martyred but whose bodies have not reached hospitals and are still under the rubble and debris, according to the office.
Since October 7, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza, with full American support, leaving more than 136,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amidst massive destruction and deadly famine.
In contempt of the international community, Israel continues this war, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to stop it immediately, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent acts of genocide, and to improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
