On Thursday evening in the Cultural District, Katara was held a poetry evening entitled “Letters of Love from Yemen to Qatar”, which was revived by the Yemeni poet, Jabr, the winner of the first place for the category of eloquent poetry from the Katara Award for the Messenger of the Messenger ﷺ, in its seventh session 2025.

The poet presented a number of his different poems in this evening organized by Katara in cooperation with the Yemeni embassy in Doha, and was attended by a group of the Yemeni community and a number of Arab ambassadors in Doha and officials in Katara, as well as those interested in poetry and literature.

The poet illuminated his words the hearts of the attendees, and the audience’s conscience was touched by vibrant texts, in some of them reflected the close relationship between Yemen and Qatar, and the praise of Qatar’s standing and leadership, along with other poems among them on the Yemeni capital, Sanaa.

The evening, which was presented by the Yemeni journalist Abdel Samad Darwish, also included a reference to the efforts of Katara in the Arab cultural movement and the support of the creators, the Yemeni embassy was keen to celebrate Yemeni creativity in Qatar, while the evening drew attention to reaffirming that poetry is still able to carry love messages across the border.

For his part, the Yemeni ambassador to Doha, Rajeh Badi, affirmed that the evening is an embodiment of the relationship and ties that unite the two countries, pointing out that this celebration embodies the role of poetry as a emotional bridge between peoples.

Badi praised the efforts of Katara in caring for Arab creativity, stressing the embassy’s keenness to support the Yemeni creators in Qatar, expressing his happiness at the poet attaining the prize of the poet of the Messenger.

It is noteworthy that the Katara Theater had previously embraced in previous times several Yamina events, including the activities of “Yemeni Day”, which were distributed between art and folklore and reviewing aspects of Yemeni heritage, as well as honoring a group of names in various fields.
